Unfortunately, DosBox hasn't got SB16 support yet, Also, ingame sound is optimized for SB16 cards (recorded at more than 22 kHz) so if your mixer (soundcard driver) doesn't support 32 and 44 kHz, you need remixing which is ALWAYS BAD.You might get a slight performance improvement by changing your soundcard hardware acceleration level and sample rate conversion settings. The main problem is that the sound chunks are HUGEĪnd whatever your CHUNKSIZE setting is, you will get a lag. Well, it won't run as smooth as with VDMSoundīut the MIDI music is definitely better.
